Course Overview

BDS stands for Bachelor of Dental Surgery. It is the only recognized undergraduate professional dental course in India. After completing BDS, one becomes a qualified dental surgeon, capable of practicing dentistry or pursuing specialization.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology & English
  • Minimum age: 17 years
  • Must qualify NEET-UG entrance exam
  • Admission through counseling process

Total Duration

5 years (4 years academic study + 1 year internship)

Internship (1 Year)

Students complete a 1-year rotational internship across dental departments under supervision, gaining hands-on experience in all dental procedures and patient care.

Course Criteria

Attendance

Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory in theory and practical classes to be eligible for exams.

Examinations
